One of our long time members Miriam Elkin has many times made entries for the Alice Springs beanie competition and this year was no exception.
The theme for this year was A Traveller’s Tale and the wool was spun and dyed using natural dyes then knitted by Miriam.
Another member, Dianne travelled to Alice to be a volunteer at the festival and was able to get us ‘hot off the press’ news of Miriam’s win of the Favourite Country prize.
Her story is set among the icebergs and her hat features many of the creatures found in that icy environment including polar bears, penguins and sea creatures all hand created.
Congratulations Miriam on a job well done.
